Program Overview

Assistance is provided in the following areas:

  1. Applying for affordable housing and Housing Choice Voucher Programs.
  2. Locating affordable, quality apartments for rent.
  3. Receiving assistance for eviction prevention and utility costs.
  4. Securing emergency and temporary shelter.
  5. Obtaining information regarding tenant rights and responsibilities.

The Center is developing a database of available subsidized housing developments and programs and is compiling a monthly listing of available apartments for rent. The Center provides both individual and group housing counseling and education sessions to low-income individuals and families. The services of the Housing Center are available to community residents and are coordinated with our Homeless Continuum of Care, local Department of Social Services and Health Department, faith-based organizations, housing providers, and landlords.

Just a short note to thank each and every one of you for all your diligent work and labor you all do to keep People First running smoothly. Thank you for keeping the building and grounds neat, clean, and tidy. Thank you for all the new washers and dryers in the laundry room. Thank you for all the new LED lighting throughout Chancellor. Thank you for all units getting the new heating / air conditioner in each room. Thank you for the new kitchen countertops, sinks, and refrigerators. Thank you for keeping both the front and back elevators in working condition.
