Overview

Our Information Technology, or “IT” Department, holds the responsibility to maintain the operating and technology needs for our organization. With more than 8 locations, the IT department maintains applications and connectivity with public housing applications and automated equipment. The IT Department also assists in the implementation of tenant computer centers and labs at various sites.

The IT Department supports our mission by guiding and supporting People First’s use of Information Technology. The IT Department ensures that People First staff:

  • Has up-to-date technology.
  • Knows how to skillfully use the provided technology.
  • Can reliably and quickly find relevant business information.
  • Uses technology to continually increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and purchases computer hardware and software to meet the needs of the agency.

  • Devises applications for the computer system to meet our residents needs and conducts needs analysis.

  • Operates computer system, including the monitoring of system updates and the resolution of user and vendor problems.

  • Provides training to new and existing staff regarding the use of computer equipment and software.

  • Operates, monitors, and controls computer network servers and peripherals.

  • Performs normal daily maintenance tasks, such as file backups and restoration, and file reorganization as required by the various application procedures.

  • Maintains communication technologies.

  • Configures and maintains email systems.

  • Participates in professional conferences/training programs.

  • Develops computer operations and associated training for the purpose of improving agency efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability.
