NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Municipal Housing Authority of the City of Utica, New York (UMHA) – People First (d/b/a/) - is amending its Public Housing Admissions & Occupancy Policy (ACOP) to comply with the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA) of 2016 regarding over income public housing families.

A public hearing will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Perretta Twin Towers Community Room, 509 Second St., Utica, New York 13501 to gather resident and public input on the over income changes. Residents and members of the public are encouraged to participate in the above meeting via Zoom and Free Conference Call. The Free Conference Call number is (267) 807-9605 and the Access code 558769. The UMHA Board of Commissioners will review the plan at its meeting on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 4 pm at the Perretta Twin Towers Community Room, 509 Second St., Utica, New York 13501.

The public is invited to attend this meeting and comment on the ACOP Amendment. Copies of the Amendment are available at our offices at 509 Second St., Utica, New York 13501. Comments on the proposed public housing over income rule must be submitted in writing to John Furman, Director of Grants, Programs, Compliance and Monitoring, no later than May 23, 2022 at the address indicated above.
