NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE SECTION 8 ADMINISTRATIVE PLAN

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Municipal Housing Authority of the City of Utica, New York (UMHA) – People First (d/b/a/) - is announcing a public comment period and a public hearing relative to proposed changes to the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Administrative Plan. The Administrative Plan establishes policies for the administration of the Section 8 (also known as the Housing Choice Voucher Program) which must comply with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations and requirements. The comment period is open for 30 days from May 19, 2022 through June 20, 2022. A public hearing will be held to receive comments on changes to the Administrative Plan. Written comments may be submitted prior to or at the hearing. The public hearing will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Monday June 20, 2022 in the Community Room at the Authority’s Main Offices located at the Perretta Twin Towers, 509 Second Street, Utica, New York 13501. The proposed amended Administrative Plan is available for review at https://www.peoplefirstny.org/ or the Authority main offices as well as at each property management office located at our various housing developments from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Comments may be submitted in writing to John Furman, Director of Grants, Programs, Compliance and Monitoring, no later than 11:59 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2022 at the address indicated above. Residents are invited to participate in the UMHA Resident Advisory Board to offer input on the proposed amendment.
